Andaman 50
Andaman Catamarans have been producing high-performance, innovative and comfortable boats for many years now- it’s a brand that represents excellent value for money. They are made by GREYachting Shipyard, a new premium Thai shipyard near Hua Hin.
The Andaman 50 is their most popular model: a sailing catamaran designed for blue-water voyages, blending advanced materials and modern technology to deliver a vessel that’s both lightweight and robust. Constructed using multiaxial fiberglass reinforced with Kevlar and basalt, it promises durability and efficiency for sailors seeking adventure on the open sea.
The Andaman 50 is a fresh contender in the 50-foot cruising catamaran market — and she’s been shaking things up for a few years now. With vertical saloon windows to keep the midday sun out of the saloon and an aft-set, she looks sleek.
She is built with Divinycell vinylester foam, Kevlar reinforcement, and laser-precision cuts, which makes for a robust boat, one of the most affordable, customizable catamarans in her category.
She’s immediately recognisable thanks to her central aft helm
Sailing
With a mainsail area of 88 square meters and a self-tacking jib of 41 square meters, the Andaman 50 is well set-up. Her light displacement of 9.5 tons ensures lively performance, allowing the catamaran to get going quickly in lighter airs, and she provides a lively experience in moderate conditions.
With an efficient hull design, modest draft (1.45 m / 4’9”), and skeg keels, upwind performance is respectable. The aft helm position gives direct feedback, an enjoyable, sailing experience.
On Deck
The deck layout has been designed for both functionality and comfort. The central aft helm station gives you excellent visibility manoeuvring in the marine. Ample space on deck allows for relaxation and social activities, making it suitable for both short excursions and extended voyages.
Optional features like smart LCD glazing provide privacy in the cockpit and cabins.
Boarding the yacht from the deck or a tender is easy via the large sugarscoops, and this take you to twin symmetrical lounges in the cockpit. All sail handling is done from the cockpit, with an electric winch for raising the mainsail.
With wide nets, ample deck space, and a bridgedeck clearance of just under 1 meter, this is a comfort and safe boat to move around in rougher conditions.

The interiors are designed for comfort and function, with an option for air conditioning, an American-style fridge, and a high-end sound system.
