Fountaine Pajot Catamarans launched the New 44 in January 2025. Here’s a summary of the presentation of their new sailing catamaran.

Following hot on the heels of the FP41 which launched in 2025 is the new Fountaine Pajot 44.

With this new sailing catamaran, the French manufacturer are aiming:

  • To offer affordable catamarans with more value for money.
  • Follow a new positioning to give more:
    • Quality
    • Space
    • Volume
    • Features.

Their second promise was to offer more freedom:

  • The freedom to see bigger
  • To sail further
  • To feel yourself being even closer to the ocean with an XXL lifestyle
  • By pushing back the limits to offer more living space without compromising seakeeping qualities.

The New 41, due for launch summer 2025, should impress.

New model unveiling

FP announced the new model with the following values

  • Maritime spirit
  • Contemporary elegance
  • The sense of balance between performance and comfort

All together, this makes up the DNA that has been evolving for almost 50 years.

With a commitment to the environment and an option for carbon-free cruising with the ODSea+ pack and a hybrid powertrain solution. With the New 44, they are taking this further.

The New 44 has a seafaring spirit, contemporary elegance and sense of balance between performance, comfort, and habitability.

Their philosophy here is “Always more“:

  • More value for the same price
  • More living space at the same size
  • More freedom to sail further and be closer to the ocean

With a mindset of: “Sharing your emotions” where they encourage their owners to share unique moments on the ocean.

The New 44:

  • Sleek bows, taut lines, a slender coachroof cap, and profile portholes along the hull add an elegance that gives her pretty lines.
  • The pronounced chine of the hull shows their aim to offer ever more volume and living space while maintaining seaworthiness.

In FP’s words, this new model offers a XXL way of life. Architects, designers, the Fountaine Pajot’s design office, and the technicians have pushed back the limits to offer more volume to living spaces, while always keeping in mind high standards in terms of seakeeping.

A big living space on the water that measures 88m² (947 sqft). They’ve achieved that by increasing the beam of the boat by 24cm compared to the previous model.

On the outside, you will find all the hallmarks that say Fountaine Pajot:

  • The semi-integrated helmstation ensures visibility over the water and optimum protection from the elements, a functional and comfortable space for helming maneuvers at night watches, visually connected to the lounge deck and cockpit for greater conviviality and safety.
  • The lounge deck has been given pride of place with the genuine saloon featuring deep, comfortable seating and two XXL sun-lounging areas.

Fitted with solar panels fully integrated into the design of the catamaran: up to 2000 W, which can be increased to 2300 W by adding additional photovoltaic panels on the foredeck, to achieve total energy autonomy at anchor.

The forward cockpit features a big sundeck. For even more comfort and relaxation, with a serving hatch integrated into the forward windows, allows you to take refreshments directly from the galley to the forward cockpit.

At the stern, the cockpit is more versatile. A new space dedicated to watersports connects the after end of the cockpit to the bathing platform. Attention has been paid to the slightest of details:

  • The location of the lounger on the transom allows you to keep an eye on what the kids are up to.
  • The reduced height difference between the swim platform and the cockpit makes it easier to move around.
  • The location of the plancha grill on the starboard side makes for easy cleaning and keeps odours at bay.
  • The large cockpit saloon can accommodate up to ten people.

They have developed further the concept of living inside and outside, with the saloon opening flush-decked onto the cockpit, a feature on all the Funtaine Pajot catamaran range, and with the New 44, they’re taking it further:

The boundary between outside and inside disappears thanks to the sliding window doors opening fully across the entire width of the cockpit to create a large living space of more than 35m² (377 sqft). Another key feature with this new generation of catamaran.

Inside, you enter a large living space with a panoramic view of the ocean. The large, fully equipped galley and saloon lounge is functional and comfy.

The New 44 will be available in two layout versions:

  1. A version with 4 cabins and 4 bathrooms.
  2. A version with 3 cabins and 3 bathrooms.

They designed this version in close collaboration with our owners to better meet sailor’s needs:

They’ve designed a large 15m² owner’s cabin (161.5 sqft) with a panoramic view on the ocean. This suite includes a desk area, toilets, a separate shower room, and a closet. Iit can also have a second adaptable cabin as an option. A double bunk bed accommodates children close to the master cabin while maintaining privacy. But it’s a cabin that can be transformed into a workshop area once the kids have grown up.

So the New 44 is a catamaran that offers more space, with smart optimized layouts to make cruising more comfortable and a more enjoyable experience to share with others.

Power

The New 44 will be available with a choice of engines: twin 30 HP Yanmars as standard and twin 45 HP as an option.

Hybrid solution: In the ODSea+ version, the New 44 will be available with a twin 25-kW hybrid powertrain solution.

Sail further with up to 2300 W of solar panels power installed, the New 44 boasts great energy autonomy:

  • Almost 3 to 4 days’ self-sufficient sailing without recharging at ports, and up to 12 hours with the air conditioning running.
  • Zero decibels at anchor. Zero odours and zero carbon emissions. These are the advantages of the hybrid solution.

Sailing more sustainably. 46% less carbon emission. That’s the reduction in CO2 equivalent emission during the use phase of the version equipped by hybrid propulsion. This is a major way of reducing the carbon footprint of recreational boating. The hybrid system is paving the way for eco-boating, and we are extremely proud to be at the forefront of this.
