The T-2000 Voyager, from Safehaven Marine is a 20m high performance, long range blue-water explorer power catamaran built by a company that specialises in FRP Pilot boats, Patrol boats, Crew transfer vessels, Hydrographic survey catamarans and Naval & Military craft.
They have made a name for themselves thanks to their high standards of strength & engineering and their boats are renowned for their exceptional sea-keeping abilities. They have over 60 pilot vessels in operation globally.
Safehaven Marine offer bespoke custom fit out, private motor yachts for clients who are looking for unique, beyond the ordinary vessels.
Optimised Beam
With a Length Overall (L.O.A.) of 21.4 meters (70 feet) and a beam of 6.2 meters, the T-2000 achieves a great balance between stability at rest and behaviour when under way in waves. This beam, moderate for its length, is a clever compromise between wake interaction and performance.
Unlike wider beam catamarans, which can move uncomfortably in certain sea conditions, the T-2000 has a smoother ride, much like a monohull, but without the roll or yaw you might experience in beam and following seas or the slamming in head-on conditions. The 6.25m beam makes this motor catamaran marina-friendly: she is easy to dock and manoeuvre.
Construction
Voyager has been designed and built to meet the stringent demands of commercial vessel standards, following Safehaven Marine’s experience in building Search and Rescue (S.A.R.) craft, Military and all-weather pilot vessels. Her hull is robust, using 30mm cored vinylester E-glass construction for the topsides, and heavy solid laminate for the lower structure, providing durability and reliable impact resistance. She’s a tough boat.
Carbon fibre reinforcement has been used throughout the structure. Voyager’s design is focused on safety, with 20mm thick toughened glass for her forward windows. A fully watertight aft cockpit door adds an extra layer of security.
Hydrofoil
The T-2000 Voyager features an integrated hydrofoil between the hulls that enhances efficiency and reduces fuel consumption. The hydrofoil lifts the hull out of the water at speeds above 20 knots, reducing drag and resistance. This technology reduces fuel consumption by as much as 25%.
Each engine consumes around 115 liters per hour at 35 knots.
